Rakesh Kumar, PhD
Dr. Rakesh Kumar is a researcher with expertise in environmental studies and water pollution control. Dr. Kumar is interested in areas such as soil and water pollution, environmental hydrology, and nanotechnology. His research interests include water and environmental pollution control, efficient adsorbents for wastewater treatment, adsorption experiments, and nutrient management. Besides, his research involves studying microplastic pollution in the natural environment and developing efficient adsorbents to remove pollutants from wastewater through sorption and saturated porous media in column experiments. Currently, Dr. Kumar is an experienced researcher in Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University, with a focus on environmental remediation, water quality, and sustainable agricultural practices, particularly involving the application of biochar. So, Dr. Kumar's research focuses on nutrient and trace element management in contaminated water and soil using biochar and sustainable adsorbents.
